Julie McHenry

President, Communications Insight

Julie McHenry is president of Communications Insight, a strategic business communication firm. Julie provides communication strategy, message development, positioning, brand strategy and related communication programs for high technology companies. Clients have included Assette, ActiveGrid, Intentional Software, Krillion, PayCycle, Voltage Security, Widgetbox, YieldBuild and many others.

Prior to forming Communications Insight, Julie was co-founder and CEO of Wilson McHenry Company, a leading public relations firm representing award-winning technology brands including: Informix, Symantec, Intuit, Pioneer, Excite, Maxtor, Convergys, Oblix, and many others.

Prior to founding Wilson McHenry Company, Julie co-founded The Waggener Group (Waggener Edstrom) and worked extensively with the Microsoft Corporation from 1982-1989.

Julie has a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri and a MBA from University of Portland. Julie is an APR (Accredited Public Relations) professional.

Julie is past-president and Board Member Emeritus of the Silicon Valley chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and an active member of Women’s Forum West. Julie speaks often on strategic communications, marketing and positioning strategy and is a recognized expert on these and related topics.
