Responsibilities:

The Event Manager is responsible for the organization, development, and implementation of strategies across the corporation for global events, meetings, conferences, and seminars. This position encompasses the management, organization, budgeting, communications, production, site planning, site selection, coordination of vendors and venues for internal and external corporate events around the world.

Most notably, this individual will execute on the company's most critical and visible corporate event - the Client Conference. This event is critical to delivering key messaging, training, and networking with our core market. This is a dynamic opportunity for a seasoned professional with a proven history of success in executing user conferences. This position is hands-on in the day-to-day execution of all aspects of the program including planning, budgeting, execution, vendor management, analysis and reporting. Responsibilities for this and other internal events would include:

  • Execute multiple internal events with a balanced budget throughout the year, including a 700-attendee conference
  • Understand RMS brand and product positioning with the ability to ensure consistent, on-brand messaging
  • Manage multiple, complex timetables successfully in a collaborative extremely fast paced environment
  • Create and monitor promotions and communications for driving event registration and response
  • Manage external relationships with 3rd party vendor and meeting venues
  • Coordinate with other internal parties to develop and successfully execute program
  • Research and report creative event options, off-site venues, and entertainment based on program format and budget
  • Provide onsite event support, registration management and other duties

Experience with external event management is also required, including exhibition at trade shows, event sponsorships, and promotion of internal experts for speaking engagements. Candidate must work with the rest of the Marcom team, product marketing, sales teams to identify show/event objectives and produce an integrated plan in support of those objectives.

About You

The candidate needs to be detail oriented, have the ability to analyze the details and make decisions, possess excellent communications and organizational skills, manage projects as assigned, and work with little supervision. Travel is required.

  • BA in Marketing or similar discipline with at least 5 years of event management experience
  • Working knowledge of event management programs, such as Cvent
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with emphasis on Excel or Access
  • Willingness to travel
  • Expertise in project management for meeting planning
  • Technical understanding of trade show and meeting industry
  • Process knowledge (setting up meetings, coordination of vendors and customers)
  • Presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to analyze the details while maintaining the larger focus
  • Good networking skills (to work with business units, and internal experts)
  •  Ability to learn RMS product and organizational structure
  • Familiarization with Marketing, Public Relations, and Promotions activities to ensure a holistic approach to event management

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Web design applications, such as Microsoft Frontpage
  • Knowledge of publishing software, such as Adobe InDesign
  • Experience with profit-driven events
