Posted: February 01, 2008 Corporate PR Manager SGI SGI is seeking a Corporate PR Manager for its Sunnyvale, CA office. The Corporate PR Manager is responsible for development and execution of strategic public relations programs for SGI including management of all media relations campaigns and initiatives related to company business, products and market solutions.

The Corporate PR Manager operates as the voice of the company to external media and maintains strong relationships with top editors in SGI markets. This person supports and reinforces SGI brand, reputation and thought leadership and is a key member of the Marketing leadership team. The Corporate PR Manager frequently counsels senior management on effective media interactions and strategies, carries specific accountability for the success of all corporate and product PR, and ensures that market segments and channels are supported through management of Industry PR Manager. Candidate will also work closely with industry partners and clients to develop creative and collaborative media initiatives. This is a senior PR position. The candidate should be recognized as a thought leader on media relations and a resource for handling sensitive issues and relationships.

Experience:

• BA in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism.
• MA in Communications or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
• 10+ years work experience in technology public relations, including at least 3 years in corporate setting.
• The candidate should have experience managing a PR agency or working in an agency role.
• The candidate must have: excellent, proven skills at building and maintaining relationships with the media; excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to spot and develop big story ideas and to design and execute media relations campaigns; strong editing skills; polished public speaking and strong media interview skills; demonstrated flexibility to work across corporate organizations, groups, geographies and levels to achieve communication goals; experience launching products and initiatives; demonstrated ability to set and maintain priorities; ability to exercise independent judgment and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• An understanding of HPC industry and computer hardware and software is a plus.
